Detailed Description

Tushun aluminum casting sand is precisely graded and designed to stabilize core and mold dimensions for critical aluminum components. Compared to general-purpose media, this aluminum casting sand offers uniform packing, reduced veining, and excellent collapsibility in cold-box, no-bake, shell, and 3D printing systems. Foundries use this material as aluminum casting sand to reduce expansion-related defects and achieve smoother surfaces, thereby reducing processing time. When switching from natural aggregates, this aluminum sand is able to maintain tight tolerances in thin walls and complex cavities. As an aluminum casting sand, it maintains consistent permeability, improving mold gas control.

Many of our customers use our specialized aluminum casting sand for engine blocks, transmission housings, pump bodies, and EV components. Because it is clean and thermally stable, this media can be used as aluminum casting sand for multiple regeneration cycles, reducing total cost of ownership. In high-volume production lines, the same aluminum casting sand provides repeatable core strength and faster shakeout rates. Through standardization, foundries achieve predictable casting behavior across alloys and seasons, improving first-pass yields and overall equipment efficiency.

FAQ

Q1: Can Aluminum casting sand replace natural silica or zircon in aluminum lines?
Yes. It is engineered as specialty media for aluminum cores and molds and is often adopted as foundry sand for aluminum when plants seek lower thermal expansion and smoother finish.

Q2: What AFS ranges are available?
Typical supply covers AFS 35–85; custom grades can be provided on request.

Q3: Does it work with shell molding and cold-box?
Yes. It performs well in shell molding, no-bake, cold-box and 3D-printed sand processes.
